Then i wouldnt worry about your reaction to it, or your feelings towards it, and i dont even mind if your reaction was "incorrect". but as long as you felt a little shady towards the things i mentioned, thats all that should be expected from a human, with feelings and some level of compassion.... Those are the only things that i just couldnt stand hearing, knowing the ones responsible were turning their attention away from it. and if someone just doesnt care that they did that, then they're just an empty soul, and i couldnt do/say anything to change that. just continue to pity them.

My whole thing on it is this:

The biggest thing, a majority of New Orleans is under sea level. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure out what could happen. The flood protection that is/was in place is great, but for citizens to put all their hope into that is wrong, and quite frankly, stupid. Take into consideration the levees, dikes, dams, and every other form of flood protection that's in place. They're old, falling apart, and any repairs made to them is "patchwork". They've lived their life (which as far as levees go is 50 years). On the flip side, there's no money in the budget for repairs to be made. And this isn't just N.O. It's everywhere.

It was quite unfortunate that it happened, but people were warned, and they chose to stay. To me (this may be harsh), makes it their own damn fault.

Now, what happened AFTER, that's a complete different story.

A combination of that, "rogue waves", the weird electromagnetic anomalies (false compass readings, electronic failure, etc), big methane pockets in the core, a whole bunch of shit really. from "aliens" to "mother nature".

@e-rich: yeah i get what you're saying, a lot of what you said has to do with the evacuation routes being crowded, and the warning came WAY too late. also, its generally a poor area, a lot of those people had nowhere to go, and no way to get them there (cars, gas, money, food, lodging, etc). and yes, definitely the budget restraints are horrible, and the "patchwork" is a just "band-aid on a gunshot". and that makes me more upset, knowing where most of the money that should be used for things like that, went to and continues to go to avenues that are continuously taking advantage of the taxpayer and the people overall. to a point you make complete sense, its just what i knew was going on, where the money should've been spent, as opposed to what the portrayed was happening (before/after), and where the money did go.

really just a perfect example of how far our country has fallen, and how sad it is that we've abandoned what originally made this country the world-power, and everything that is "said" about our country, that isn't necessarily "done" anymore.
