How do you know if your iPod is an MC model or not?

if you go into your settings => general => about, and then scroll down to "model" the model there will start with MC (MC model) or MB (not MC model)
and a 2g ipod will have volume buttons on the side, and i BELIEVE the all the 3G models are "MC****" models.
