It's really not that hard to listen to a rapper and figure out if he's a good rapper or not, if he has talent or not.

If a rapper could talk about the street life, pussy and money and has talent while he does it then good for him, I'll bump his shit.

Me. I know myself. I'm intelligent. I know "real" hip hop. I don't limit myself to underground hip hop, much like I used to do. My favorite MC's are still Ghostface, DMX, Wu Tang, Immortal Tech, Elzhi, Nas, Tech N9ne, Big Pun, Big L, Common, 2Pac, Jay Electronica, Lupe and Royce Da 5'9. Wayne used to be my number one, until 08 when he became a mainstream, pop rapper. Oh yeah, and the reason a lot of people who have my type of taste don't like Lil Wayne is because he branches out a lot and has way too much bad content in his discography and people never look back at his older works to see what he used to be, because they can't branch out. Hip hop heads nowadays stay in too much of a box. I was once in that same box. I never listened to the radio or paid any attention to the commercial rappers, but after I saw Wayne, who at the time was my favorite MC, was getting a lot more attention, I paid more attention to the mainstream. I listen to VERY few mainstream rappers. I hate rappers like Gucci Mane, Wale, Gudda Gudda, Soulja Boy, Lil Twist, Lil Chuckee, Waka Flocka, Kreayshawn, Diddy, Birdman, etc.

But, I gave the mainstream a chance and it turned out a lot better. Some of these guys are growing a lot in their works and becoming decent artists. Like Drake, Kanye West, and KiD CuDi. If you'd check out some of their mixtapes or underground content before they became popular, you usually won't be dissatisfied.
