Nintendo is a contender for the GOAT, but they've had a lot of fuck-ups.
PS1 and PS2 era Sony was the best IMO. Big RPG fan, and Nintendo only had JRPG's. Sony had Western and JRPG's.
Plus the most diverse library of software on any console.

Games like Battletoads and Mike Tysons Punch Out are games that I still occasionally play. Insane replay value on alot of those old NES games.

Nintendo is imo by far the best thing that ever happened to videogames. It has been revolutionary with its games, consoles, controllers, etc. etc. through its entire history. It's a toycompany that brought us some of the most brilliant videogames ever created and for me, growing up in the 90's, Nintendo games are THE definition of true videogames.

Even now that I'm 24 and not really Nintendo's target audience anymore, I still appreciate the company for doing their own thing and being very succesful with it (Wii U isn't a succes, commercially and looking at the games that it has to offer, but the 3DS's first year wasn't either and look at that incredible game line-up now). Just imagine how awesome it is for kids to grow up with a Wii/Wii U.

It's a shame nintendo started focusing on making players fit rather than entertainment for its general audience. N64 and GameCube was classic, the wii had potential but it just went downhill from there. Super smash bros series is unfortunately the only thing keeping the console selling which is embarrassing.

yeah. lol the wii is worst system of all time I think, the only reason I supported it was because I loved nintendo so much. the wii u was a massive improvement on it though. the technology is loco but no one wants to try it because of how bad the wii 1 was
