on your iTunes when you plug your iPod in is it best to selcet "Convert higher bit rate songs to 128 kbps AAC" ...what does that mean?
It's a option for people that have smaller Ipods/iphones/iPads and a lot of music that's running out space/hard drive. It means that any song that has a bitrate higher than 128kbps will be converted down to 128kbps.

This has always been an option for iPod shuffle but it's also available for every iDevice since a few months ago. It simply downconverts tracks for your iDevice to save up space. Your original files in your library on your computer stay the same. I hope that is what you wanted to know
EDIT: Oh lol I see i'm late. Yeah it does make your file smaller but it also decreases the quality of it so I wouldn't let it allow to do that!
