We found it among my grandmothers things and none of us have seen it before. I do have a great grandfather that fought in WW1, but on the American side. So we re not sure how she ended up with a German soldiers metal and papers.

Well the letter says that the Wilhelm II. gave a special medal to joseph scheven in 1918 if that helps you
