              My man! Sweet, ok.

So I am on 10mg of Valium, I also have lorazepam and alprazolam (Ativan and Xanax) at my disposal, I take the equivalent of 10mg of valium, so 1mg xanax, and 2mg ativan.

I take it once every 3 days. So if I take it Sunday night, I go without Monday Tuesday, then take it again Wednesday. My question is, will this schedule help me avoid tolerance/addiction?

I've had multiple docs try to prescribe these drugs to me full time, daily, but I refuse. I don't want them to lose their potency. What are your thoughts?

              • I would have to agree with you. Dude the last thing you want is a nasty benzo tolerance/addiction hanging over your head. It is terrible. I'm talking psychological and emotional hell, seizures, high blood pressure, increased stress and anxiety, panic attacks, shock. I believe benzo withdrawal is the worst form of withdrawal, up there with alcohol. You can die from it my man! I've been through the ringer on klonopin, xanax (individually prescribed and also both at the same time), oxazepam, which is serax and is similar to valium. Right now I'm rx'd xanax 2mg and am supposed to take them 4 x day. I would be so flopped out if i did that unless i straight up am having panic attacks or seizures (i'm mildly epileptic). I tend to stick to a pretty consistent regiment of 1 2mg xanax every day or 2. I have gone weeks without taking it and have not faced any known withdrawal.
Nice part is if you keep it up like that, you're meds will actually work like you stated lastly in your post. Tolerance although builds up quickly in benzos, i believe doesn't really start to get sketchy until you've been on it a few years or are abusing it or taking it daily. I think what you're doing is perfect. Look at me, i have been taking xanax prescribed to me for years yet still find a small dose (for me) of 2 mg every day or so to be very effective! I see similarities in Valium too, as I have tried that a while back. It's probably going to work a little better for you though, because valium has a longer half life compared to my xanax, meaning some of the drug is still in your system 12-24 hours, sometimes even 36 hours after dosing, compared to xanax which is like 6-12 hours max i believe.
*I'm not a doctor, so don't quote me on this*

Bro.. Thank you so much! You put my mind at ease. I feel you with benzo's... I never used to think I could get addicted but holy shit it creeps up on you so fast. I had a period a few months ago I had to really work on stopping myself. I think you're 100% right though, thank you for your story.
