Obviously nobody directly follows his lyrics in their life. But after listening to him repeatedly, people subconsciously adapt his themes, this is with out a doubt.

More importantly, and the last thing I have, is about the entire genre.

Do you think people dismiss hip-hop artists because they think they are all like Weez?

okay dude, ill try to explain one more time. idk how youre getting this much of my patience, but you are.

There are people who think all rappers are like weez (plus 50, the game, loyd, everybody).
Those people wont listen to another hiphop artist because the only ones they see are on MTV (like the ones i listed above), and they think they're all the same.

But to answer your question, no, he can't. He doesn't (well he used to) write material down but, what he does is entirely different from freestyling.

not to be an even bigger dickhead, but before posting any of this shit, i honestly doubted that people here would be able to have an actual conversation about this, real, real shit. not the freestyling shit, anyone with a brain can figure that out, but how, beceause hes so mainstream, weez is putting hip-hop in a bad light that shuts doors for a ton of talented hip-hop artists.

I'm coming directly to his fans to ask how they feel about it, since its his fans that support him, and should at least be able to give their opinion on this large issue. So far nobody has. Its disappointing... but kind of expected.

He can't freestyle, I've admitted that. And I'll admit when he's had a bad song, which, he has. I'm a fan, not a stan. Most of IANAHB wasn't great. But thats 10 or 13 songs out of thousands he's done. Yes, not all of those other ones were good, but there's a far larger number of good songs by him that to me out weigh the bad or 'less great' songs.

Of course it's all a matter of opinion. So the songs that hit me and I can relate to will me jack to you.

I don't blast freestyles so I don't care about freestyles, and I'm sure many others don't either. Because freestyle is amazing to look at if you are interested in that talent but musical it is more or less irrelevant. I don't care if a good track is freestyled or not as long as it rocks. So I don't even see a point in this discussion..

Weezy along with most mainstream rap artists (not all but the majority) bring down the quality of rap music and continuously lower the bar in expectations for artist to create an all around good track or album. Let alone a good message for today's youth and children growing up listening to rap/hip hop. And this then portrays rap music and rap artist to all be the same shallow money hungry sell outs that is today's rap/hip hop, therefore someone not familiar with rap/hip hop will think "If he's the most popular and most successful rap artist with these lyric and message, why would I even want to listen to this garbage anyway?" And something else that I don't get is how with famous people or famous role models, is how only certain groups of celebrities and artists are held to different standards. How is it that a rapper like Weezy can say what he says and write what he writes but isn't held to a standard like other celebrities and sports players are. You know in today's society rap/hip hop is a huge influence on our culture and generation, yer people like Weezy, 50 cent, Chris Brown just to name a few are put up on a pedestal and admired. That life is good to you no matter what you do or how you act its fine as long as you create a trendy song that tops the charts it doesn't even have to convey a positive message, let alone a message at all. any other message than money drugs and treating woman as objects. If you don't include those things or violence then your song or album is going absolutely no where.
