I think he would also still be considered "The Best Rapper Alive" without everybody saying "Fuck Wayne he sucks" like everybody says now. I also think he still would have won a Grammy without having to go mainstream.

Those are definately mainstream. Anything backed by a large company is mainstream. The fact that it was shown on TV makes it mainstream. A good example of an underground artist is Immortal Technique.

Maybe but I think its crazy to say C1 and C2 aren't mainstream. Mainstream isn't a bad thing it's just the truth.

But even some songs that don't make the radio (For example, Blunt Blowin', MegaMan, hell, the whole Tha Carter IV) are mainstream. Because of the fact it's Lil' Wayne and people will listen to Lil' Wayne

Mainstream is a song that has a pop influence to it, like how to love, mirror.....ect.

Non mainstream isn't underground but Dancing with the Devil was underground.. He's independent so it wasn't a label that pushed people to hear it. He's doing his own marketing through the people which is what I consider underground.
