I agree. Nobody cares about sales anymore, especially with the internet its leaked days before and downloaded more than its bought. Just how the world works now...Music isn't bought as much as it used to, therefore low sales.

IANAHB2 is doing this because lack of good/huge promotion and possibly controversial things like Emmett Till line and that NBA thing. Even if Wayne went off and was extremely lyrical like that one guy in this thread said (i think josh), it wouldn't have boosted sales by a large amount. What it WOULD do though is build the hype for Wayne's next albums or his next IANAHB album. That's one of the reasons why C4's sales were huge, because of the mark C3 left on the industry. That album alone got hype up for C4, so if he was extremely lyrical on this then hype for IANAHB3 (if made) or his next album would increase a lot.

But, lyricism isn't what would help with his sales, Wayne's lack of promotion played a part so bigger promotion is better. I have a feeling C5 will do heavy numbers though (at least 700k first week). It's a Carter series, it's supposed to be his last album, and I'm sure you will see heavy promotion for it. The Carter series holds its own weight whereas IANAHB series does not.
