I feel like all this skating, I'm not human bullshit is pushing him too much into a different audience. This is why I feel like we'll never get another quality album. Niggas satisfied with bullshit like My Homies Still, and No Worries. I miss that gangsta wayne and I know it's most likely never coming back, but at least give us quality music whether it's that wayne or not.
In that IANAHB2 thread Danny did mention something about hearing a song that sounded like 07 Wayne (or before), but it wasn't going to be a single due to singles needing to be able to reach to a lot of people to promote and shit... They wouldn't really put lyrical/deep shit like that on radio as much as shit like Lollipop for C3 which is sad but still.. I'm just looking forward to hear that track he was talking about

And I still think and get hyped in those songs that Wayne is aggressive and talks about killing/bloods/etc... He's just on a different level usually for that, like in one of the Demolition songs he said "My bullets come with wings, and yo' cerebellum could fly" and that shit was hard

He still kinda does it... On "No Problems" that came out like last week was cool cause he talked about killing and shit towards middle of his verse

I think we all wish he would come back on that gangsta Weezy shit but why would he think he needs to do that? Not like he's in the streets or even hangs with many people in the streets anymore. He probably will never come with shit like that again unless someone he still knows in the streets gets killed or some shit. I get he was never really in the streets when he was rappin about it before but he was much closer than he is now. All I can do is enjoy the quality music he puts out now, and that's it. Wayne is and will be my favorite rapper because I grew up listening to him. Once he's off probation we will see an ENTIRELY new wayne I'm sure; and that is when he will change styles, like he usually does when he gets bored of an old style.

I overrated NC myself because it's what got me back listening to what was current Wayne at the time. I didn't fuck with his music at all in 2009 until NC, he sucked imo. But I started to realize that NC wasn't as great as I thought it was around February of 2010.

It's still a solid tape

Tbh if he rapped like he did on D3 (including autotune), just without all the features, then D3 would be better than No Ceilings

"Kill whom and whomever for whatever
That barrel longer than a word with 10 letters, now you spell it"

"Armed and dangerous, rich and famous, young and restless
Guns and stretchers
Cristal and dubs for breakfast
I just got one suggestion - none should test him
'Cause cuz get hectic; send one through your sons intestines
Glocks knock lungs from chests, you get the portrait?
Bodies piled up on porches, it won't be gorgeous"

I think what makes Wayne such a great rapper is that every project he makes is a different style.

It keeps you wondering what his next project will be like

Interesting that you think No Ceilings is better than Tha Carter III. Not hating, just think that it's cool that someone has an opinion like that. It's different and not common around here.

And I have to agree with breezy214 when he said that most of the Sqad Up tapes were boring. The low quality vocals over other artist's instrumentals just doesn't really appeal to me.

NC was a tad overrated, but not by much. It's a pretty good tape, no where his best tho.

I feel like if D3 had nothing but pure Wayne w/auto-tune on it, it would of been a fucking problem!!
His verses on some of those songs are dope as hell lyrical or not! I liked that shit way better then the majority of the pop rap, pussy talk garbage on D4.

It reignited his rapping career after he went rock in 09.It proved to people that he wasnt gone from rap and that he still was the best. That alone says something. Its 8/10 mixtape.

TBH, it was kinda overrated at the time, since Wayne was doing a rock album (which did not suck IMO). But this mixtape was great, and it could easily land a spot in Wayne's top 5 mixtapes of his entire career.

the new weezy or the old one

i think from 500degrees,The block is hot etc...No Ceilings was a hot comeback mixtape in the whole of lil wayne's discography...
it was tight,in terms of lyrical content, the beat selection as well as the general choice of songs...jay-z even gave him props on the DOA track...i love it...
i gotta say though,i love lil wayne's songs now as compared to his previous albums before The carter 1,but his dressing ever since then has gone crazier...i'm into old school hip hop, and i wouldnt be caught dead in skinny jeans,so on that one,i gotta back off and say wizzy...lose the leopard print jeans...
