  • The end of Lil wayne's prime?

when was the end of wayne's prime offically most people say rebirth , after no ceiling's or even when he got locked up

me personally i say after carter 4 2011 was a good year for a prime wayne and my second question is even though wayne is post prime is he like a ray allen riding the waves putting little effort into winning a ring but still trying to stay relevant or is wayne a KOBE BRYANT not in his prime but still a top threat beast looking to go out win a bang ?

For me it was when the video for 'The Motto' came out straight after that i felt like Wayne met the end of his prime.

Carter 3. 2007 was his peak. No Ceilings was good, still isn't enough to extend his prime years for me.

I say after Carter 4. Up until then he was all the talk, after that the "Wayne fell off" bandwagon started

"Wat the fuck you boys talkin bout
I know it's me cuz Im the only thing to talk about"

2007 is too soon. 2008-2009 sounds about right, but I'd say 2008.

About the Ray Allen/Kobe thing, he's more of Kobe in the game. He's past his prime but he's still relevant and not cause he tries to. People that "hate" him keep his name huge alone. When he stepped on the flag, he had no intentions of trying to stay important, but it blew up and his name got even more huge.

When Carter 5's time period gets closer I feel the more promotion will come and his name will stay big. No matter what his name won't die down, he flooded the industry (not just Hip Hop) with music.

I always felt like Wayne's prime was between 05-07. Wayne was great in 08 I don't know it I would count it in. One things for sure though, in 09 Wayne was past his prime even though it had a few great tracks and NC.

The Young Money album. I consider Carter 3 and No Ceilings prime Wayne as well. I thought he was still killing it during that time period.

2004-2007 is the perfect Lil Wayne era. After 2008 when he became real popular he started falling off pretty hard, but he kept it going great up until 2011. 2012 is shit. 2013 is better, but not good enough.
