Lyrically, stylistically, everything about that album was awful.

      Kanye created a chutzpah masterpiece.

To be honest, in post-modern criticism, Kanye is always gonna win: he is the auteur, the man who makes his music.

Wayne raps over a beat someone else made...
So Kanye > 2Pac, Andre 3000, Biggie, Nas, Jay-Z, Wayne, Eminem...... etc. ?

        As a musician/artist, absolutely.

Not on rapping ability, though. I can admit they're all better rappers than Ye, especially Wayne in his prime and 3k

Could you explain why you think it is?
Tha Block is Hot is more of a Southern classic than anything.

808's is better than Rebirth imo.

Here's my honest opinion on album comparisons based on year released:

          College Dropout>>>>>>>Carter 1
          Late Registration<<Carter 2
          Graduation<<<<<Carter 3
          808's>>>>>Rebirth
          MBDTF>>>Carter 4
          IAHB2>>Yeezus

Question: does it make a difference that 'Ye produced his music (except for Yeezus)?

As an artist it does, but I'm judging both of them on their albums based on the overall feel of them to me. For me those are how I rank those albums.

It is Kanye's artistic decision to make most of his beats because he is more gifted in that area, where it is Wayne's artistic decision to outsource his production and focus more on his rapping because he is more gifted in rapping, which is why a lot of people will say that Wayne's mixtapes are better than his albums.

Both make decisions to improve their albums based on their talent. If Kanye outsourced his beats, then he may not have sounded so powerful on them.

wayne never said it was a rock album

it was just the reviewers who labeled it that

                  wayne labeled it as 'music'

the album was more or less wayne rapping over rockish beats

so i dont know what you call it

                  i call it dope tho

If it's rock music, which it is, it's a rock album.

Sure, it's not a conventional one, but it's a rock album nonetheless.

Even if you class it as a rap album or simply 'music', it's very bad music.

Conventional, simple beats, generic, corny lyrics ("I loved her fancy underwear. I sat behind her every year")

You're seriously telling me if anyone but Wayne put that album out you'd call it dope?

Just basing the argument off of diversity only........Wayne wins...

Kanye is a great rapper no doubt...but Wayne just shines over this guy like no tomorrow...

                        There's no debate....

Generally speaking, that's the one certifiable thing Kanye wins at.
