      RT.

All an album is is music they make money off of.

Lil Wayne, Drake, Chance the Rapper, Skooly, Rich Homie Quan, 2 Chainz.

It means a lot more to take creative risks with albums; Wayne would know, he tried it himself -- and, unlike Kanye's quasi-experiments, his failed.

Carter II has only a couple of bad tracks; the rest of them are great songs.
Carter III is close to not being great if you ask me; some of the songs are mind blowing, but half of the album (Got Money, Comfortable, Phone Home, Mrs. Officer, Lollipop, La La) is average at best.

Wayne is great on his older albums, but there's not enough variety in them and they've dated pretty poorly.
I mean im not a fan of Kanye at all tbh, so this discussion isnt meant for me. But 2 great albums? nah

C1 is dope, C2, C3 is legendary, of course their are average songs but the other ones create the album, LFLS is great. N 500 Degreez is dope also tbh.

But ya i dont like kanye so my opinion isnt really valid, but i mean we are talking great albums not legendary ones that should have gone 10x platinum

Opinions are opinions, because I think Rebirth is great, but that's not my point at all. When judging them as musicians it doesn't all fall solely on albums. Music is music is music. What outlet it comes from in the end doesn't matter. Mixtapes these days are just as big as albums, and tbh Wayne is the reason for that. Not to mention all of his leaked music and countless features every year.

Sure, say quality>quantity, whatever, that isn't my point either.

I'm not arguing that either; people do overlook Wayne's mixtapes when judging his career, which is unfair.

I was simply trying to say Kanye has done more to push the genre as a whole.

                Rebirth great though?

Then I guess we need to judge it from an objective perspective (which is near-impossible but w/e). And from that perspective, Kanye wins.

And surely if half the album is bad the album thus cannot be that great? (I'm referring to C3.)

But the half isnt bad its average and with songs like Tie My Hands, DontGetIt, Mr. Carter, Let the Beat Build, etc. then ya its great

I remember when Wayne was cocky. I use to hate that but now I miss it because he music was backing him up, like Kanye.

Have you ever heard a rock album not created by Wayne?

Lyrically, stylistically, everything about that album was awful.

                        Kanye created a chutzpah masterpiece.

To be honest, in post-modern criticism, Kanye is always gonna win: he is the auteur, the man who makes his music.

Wayne raps over a beat someone else made...
