This album is fire man ..anything else said sounds contrived and stupid like I just pointed out. Wayne has invented created done so much that people forget smh. His solace will be in his true fans appreciation anyway not the "critics"
Andre 3k, Ja Rule, Nelly, Cee-Lo Green

sorry but Wayne definitely didnt start the singing/rapping trend, and he didnt start the auto tune trend either. Hate when people just ignore huge parts of important hip hop history

been there done that. None of modern hip hop sounds like that, but all of current hip hop sounds like an era of wayne revisited.

Wayne influenced artists like young thug and future but if you want to get in to the deeper influences, southern rap and trap music dates back to the late 90s in its current form, t pain brought auto tune in to the mainstream consciousness, 808s was pivotal in the current sound too. Wayne definitely plays a HUGE role in influencing new artists. But he plays a role. He wasn't the sole influencer, nowhere near. He gets plenty of credit for his role

Yeah that's just one thing that's always got me about post jail Wayne... His voice. I don't think anyone over at his camp or him actually understand how important that unique raspy voice was... And he just doesn't have it anymore. I know Wayne spits fire, he seems to have unlimited flows and word play, that I don't think will ever run out. BUT that voice was just so key, the emphasis he used to put on his words and the way he said them with that voice was a huge part of them old songs.

Like I say I still like Wayne and always will, he one of the best to ever do it and had a huge impact on the game and pretty much influenced most of the youngens that are doing it now, but he will never be back to where he was in 05-09. EVER. He may still spit fire but he will just never be back there. Anyone that thinks so is just dreaming

Who influenced todays hip hop sound ? wayne. Wayne started using autotune waaaayyyyyy back since songs like "I took her"

Wayne is the sole influencer of rappers today. Drake, kendrick, future, young homo etc. All sounded like wayne clones at some point

Damn thats a weak ass list of rappers. Man rap today is shit

I see what ur saying but his voice isnt high on every single song right now..

but everything is a trade off. His flows now are more insnae than when he had the voice. The voice just lent a certain presence to the song. He still finds a way to do it now tho so its just a trade off

Yeah I completely agree, the voice on this isn't as bad, but still it was a pretty important thing for me. NC was about as far off for me as I was happy for it to go. If he got that raspy voice back whilst doing what he doing now he'd be fucking shit up like crazy. I kinda agree about the flow, he still did some crazy shit back then man and that emphasis he put like ermmm We Takin' Over (Remix) just the way he pronounced the words if you get what I mean? He doesn't seem to do that at all now.
