  • Make an Argument for why Wayne is one of the best in the Game

Aight mini rant incoming. One thing I hate about this new gen of rap fans is, ok I get it, Wayne isn't always consistent and his music ain't what it was back in his prime. But it makes zero sense to me why most of the young people I know haven't even heard his prime stuff (C1-C3, leaks, mixtapes, you name it). Yet they have the audacity to hold Kendrick, Cole, Kanye etc as the greatest rapper in the game.

So what would ya'll say is the biggest thing that makes Wayne stand out from his peers/new rappers? For me personally it's his drive. Like back in his prime, leaks were dropping like crazy and he was churning out mixtape after tape. e.g. I'm a Kendrick fan too but I can't believe the dude hasn't dropped a project in 3 years.

This is actually what made me a huge wayne fan; just when I thought I heard all his music, I kept discovering more lol, good times

Yeah that pisses me off. Especially the Kanye. Everyone has head college dropout, late registration, etc. but they don’t listen to Carter 2, or 3. Like Kanye gets praised by the new generation yet they trash wayne when even he would tell u Wayne was better. Yet they praise Kanye like a god. And I love Kendrick but yeah I agree. He doesn’t put out much music

But my goat argument is he has the most styles. He’s a goat rapper who can kill r&b, anthem rap, underground, pop, street, rock, even has killed a country beat.

Wayne to me gets blind hate. Most people who speak on him haven’t even heard a fraction of his discography. Might have heard c3 singles and fireman.

Anyone who has actually listened to a decent amount of Wayne music or are at all aware of his career and influence will not need to be persuaded. Don't waste your energy arguing, if they want to know they can listen for themselves, if they won't bother to listen then you know it's just unthinking hate. I like Kendrick but people and the media love to love him because he's "woke" and shit, he actually sounds like Wayne a lot of the time in his flows and the way he uses his voice and shit. Kanye transforms into a new meme every month, everyone loves talking about him.

In fairness, being the best at something is a what have you done for me lately thing.

I couldn't make an argument in terms of official releases that Wayne is the best rapper alive right now. I think his history makes him the best ever. but right now he's probably not even a top 10 rapper in terms of the actual content being released.

I know people aren't going to agree 100% with me but Cole, Kendrick, Drake, Em and lots of other people are release better music at this point in time.

A big part in it is his beat selection and methods of autotune he uses today, if he used the old autotune style I think people would be more excited.

Wayne at times goes on autopilot and half asses things. We seen a big major pickup in effort when he wasn't nominated for anything.

We need more Dedication 5 effort, not NC2 effort. We want Carter 4 energy and swagger back, not the "Hey, I'm still one of the best.. don't forget about me" efforts we seen on C5.

You shouldn’t need to make an argument

Funeral > mtbmb is genral consensus same with C5 > kamikaze (But I get your point but throwing in eminem was a bit much)

But even with Funeral I think you could argue hes a top 10 best rapper in 2020

I think C6 will make or break waynes commercial career going forward

None of these new rappers have influenced a whole new generation yet, won 5 Grammys, put out 50 features in a year, gone Platinum in a week, etc.....

if wayne didnt put out so much music i guarentee there would be no one who didnt think he was the GOAT. its because he puts so much music which gives people more chance to not feel every song so they think he is hit or miss. but if he died in his prime like pac or didnt put out as much songs/features like kendrick and jayz then every single person would call him the goat
