To anyone saying C6 is trash, try throwing on literally ANYTHING he's done since 2011 and then throw on C6. That might reboot your expectations. This is fire but for some reason people don't hear it (yet). They will.

Came here hoping to see some reviews that made more sense to me after reading the ktt2 thread of hating, but it's the same here :'(
How can a Wayne super fan not like a song like If I Played Guitar?? I was so excited hearing that and seeing the title, I really never thought we'd ever get another official release form Wayne that sounds like that.

All the talk about his voice and he gives us a project where his voice is easily the best it's been since like c4, even some old school auto tune use and slower flows, but everyone hates it.

Definitely some low moments, not a big fan of the songs with his sons, or most of the features. Having MGK do the chorus when it's a Wayne/Kodak song was such a bad call, Kodak could have made that hook sound great, honestly Wayne probably could too. I thought Wayne did well in his verses for the songs with features but if the song is <50% Wayne and the features are people I don't care about then the song becomes a bit of a slog. Banned from NO was a bit of a let down, kinda hoped he would go off if he's doing a reused beat, but didn't really like that song.

I loved this, super fun listen, way better than C5 to me, shocks me how positive the C5 reception was and how negative this is.

These are all leaks except for Destroyed. I honestly think Joog is not on the level of C6, and Hasta La Vista would be one of the least interesting tracks on C6. Better Get Em is awesome, Destroyed is awesome but it does have a lot of time for Euro, and NC2 had a pretty bad reception just like this album. I think both of those songs, especially Destroyed, would fit on C6, and are of similar quality. I like better get em more.

There are a lot of leaks since 2011 that are as good/better than C6 material, but as far as official releases I really don't know

C6 has Wayne's best rapping since No Ceilings. He has that gravelly elasticity back in his voice, and also he's not over-rhyming the whole time, which is nice to hear. I keep noticing moments where he's basically echoing his flow on earlier projects and features (2005-2009 in particular). People don't realize how much the characteristics of his voice matter. Even that "Rari" song with his annoying kid on it, just listen to the first verse.... he's using his "Live from the 504" voice! On "Bells" I keep thinking he's gonna say "run in this bitch like I got fou' thighs!" lmfao. I'm telling you, this is OG flow and creativity on a lot of tracks... I just think it's been so long y'all can't hear it anymore. Probably also doesn't help that the production is bare-bones at times. I don't mind that. He can rap over windshield wipers for all I care, as long as he raps like this. Now to be clear, I'm not saying he raps like this on every track, but a good handful of them, he does.

I'm honestly not sure what fans want these days -- probably everybody wants a different version of Wayne. Including me. The good news (for me) is that I've been waiting 15 years for him to do anything close to this, so I'm happy right now. I was legit blown the fuck away to see so many lackluster reviews from fans, because when I heard the first few tracks, I was like YES. THIS is what we waited for!

Honestly, if it were up to me, he could re-record these leaks on fresher production and not change one word and call it Tha Carter 6. What he's doing right now doesn't hold a candle to his post cash money run (15-17) anyway.
