You've given: 1. That they drop a lot of mixtapes (which actually should help increase their sales) 2. That there was little promotion (which is valid to an extent, but if they were really buzzing as much as you claim they are they would still sell 50k easily in their first week, promotion or no promotion) and 3. That Lil B put his album out for free the day after it was released (Again, valid to an extent, but album sold 1,700 copies first week. Let's assume those were all on the first day and that nobody after that purchased the album. If he hadn't put the album out for free, sales would've gradually decreased day by day throughout the week, but let's assume that in Lil B's case they somehow did not, and he sold 1,700 copies per day for the entire week. That still only adds up to 11,900 copies, which is still awful.)

    Ignorance is bli$$
Fair enough, take what I used before and triple that if it was an album in stores. 35,700 copies first week is still bad.

Well, he dropped the album out of nowhere, there was no release date or anything and as far as I can remember it wasn't free the day after, I think it was free only a few hours after posting. There were no ads or shit like that, only his followers on twitter knew about the release.
Also, some more people would have bought it if it appeared as a physical cd.
And for the 100th time, Im Gay was no swag album.

Also, when you talk about how Kendrick e.g. is the one who is taking over and shit it would be the same case. Only few bought section 80 and it basically flopped salewise. I am not even hating, Kendrick is in my top 5.

so? it was released on iTunes and it's not a free mixtape you can download at sites like datpiff or livemixtapes.

and see how you don't say anything about what I typed above that? You only try and find shit to criticize lol. It makes no sense to discuss with you because you are even more stubborn than I am

So mixtapes aren't albums... People see "mixtape" and assume it's free, even if it technically isn't.

And I don't know what you want me to say to what you posted above. Fine, he didn't promote the album. To "take over rap" you have to promote yourself, which he didn't do.

Also I don't even care if Kendrick takes over the rap game or not. His music is dope and I'm gonna listen to/support him, regardless of how popular he is.

If a rapper like Wayne, Jay-Z, Eminem or Kayne just posted a link to a new album randomly on their twitter, they would get a lot more than 10k or how ever much Soulja Boy's got.

You can't take over the rap game when most people don't even know who you are or they think you suck. And for the few people that do know who Lil B and Soulja Boy are, they think that they're the ones killing Hip-Hop.

I give "Swag Rap" props. But it's gonna die down sooner or later though, just like auto-tune.

Off-topic: I would buy Section 80 if they sold it in stores. I'm actually in a search for a physical copy

The point is, if you're supposed to be taking over the rap game, then you should be selling more than the people like Eminem, Jay, Kayne and Wayne. Or at least sell around 50K... At least..
