2005-2008 were the best years for rap
    1996-2005 hip hop prime

nah fuck it. 1994 Ready to Die etc.

2000-2005 was Em and G-Unit prime, Jay Hova etc. young wayne, young kanye, young jeezy,

00-05 may been the best years but all the classics from the 90's...i prefer the 90's over any period tbh

early 90's up too about 2010 were pretty great years for rap, After that its kind of declined steadily.

Maybe mainstream rap has declined, but otherwise it really hasn't declined, there's still a lot of great rappers. Lil Wayne, Kendrick, Tech N9ne, Chamillionaire, Ab-Soul, Jay Rock, ScHoolBoy Q, Isaiah Rashad, Big Boi, Andre 3K, Joey Bada$$, Pro Era, Flatbush Zombies, The Underachievers, Nas, T.I., Chance The Rapper etc
