I have a lot more songs on YouTube, and will have more when my Fast Track Pro arrives. I'll be recording once again. "Oh Hey What's Up Man" mixtape dropping soon!

@Black And Yellow - Vocals sound like they're peaking and they sound too dry. Watch the recording levels and add some doubling and adlibs and some light reverb to add to the overall presence of the vocals. Delivery sounds pretty good though, follows the beat pretty well and is pretty tight; keep at it

Flow: Good flow, was on point the whole time, and you filled in pretty much all the gaps. I love it when rappers do that and don't pause a lot like Weezy does.

Punchlines/Similes/Metaphors: Kinda weak, like nothing really jumped out at me at all. Nothing special lyrically, maybe this just isn't a beat you can lyrically write to?

Overall Lyrics: It was kinda meh. Sorry man, you need to give the public something to remember lyrically. Flow was great, just work on your lyrics. And maybe if you know you can't write good lyrics to a beat, maybe just make it so that way your lyrics rhyme amazingly well? I always try to rhyme and flow well and put in great lyrics, so only thing to work on now is punchlines and such.

Other Notes: Just stick with your flow it's good, but work on trying to write more clever lyrics.

          Overall/Rating: 5/10

@pgathriller: thanks man! yeah I know haha that song was starting out on Garageband with a Rockband microphone and NO effects. I recently started recording on Pro Tools with real stuff and a few effects.

---------- Post added at 04:06 AM ---------- Previous post was at 04:02 AM ----------

@Glen: thanks for the response! I feel like I am still improving on lyrics since "Llame 'Pa Verte" was one of my first songs recorded. But I get response from every song allllll day saying it's clever and such. Maybe it just didn't jump out at you but I liked some of those lines personally haha I do this for fun ... "get on any beat, need stitches, no lilo" lilo & stitch. "I got a bright future, soundin' kinda like tuition" bright futures is a famous scholarship haha. there's lines in there man, listen to some of the newer songs on my youtube if you could and keep leaving comments. thank you! follow this: Harvey Soto (Music Page) | Facebook

              Flow: B-
              Lyrics: C

Overall (for all tracks): 2.5/5, There's nothing here that shows me who Harvey is. There's a bit here, and a bit there, but everything here is the same shit that mainstream artists try to shove down our throats. Lyrically, you need some work kid. A good bit of work. But you got the makings of a good flow and good delivery so you are not far from coming into your own light. Just make sure you're not trying to imitate everyone and you're being "Harvey" on the mic. I like your play on the B&Y chorus. Hustle Hard had great energy, just lacked lyrics and punchlines.

cool man. I wanna hear your new stuff when you're ready. I always like artist development. I'd do way better working as an A&R somewhere then rapping, that's why when I make stuff I'm like "whatever". My hearts in the music, but I know there's 1000000 people out there better than me. Keep it up! Good to see another new active member here in the Studio.

                    that means nothing.

there's also 1000000 people out there better than souljaboy and lil b, but look how successful they are.
its about the hustle and image.
rapping is only a small portion of whats needed.
there's always gonna be someone better , but thats irrelavent.

no, u're irrelevant. Lil' B's about to put out an album called "I'm Gay" and idiots like him? Not to say I'm gay bashing, but why would he even say something like that? There's no Nas/N symbolism to that at all. Why is he hot? Cause he's niche. Even his fans give him mixed reactions at shows like when he was recent at SXSW. When he does bafoonery and "cooks", they love him to death, but when he trys to pay homage to Jay Elec on his Eternal Sunshine loop, they question him. Soulja is working hard to be taken seriously, but when you enter the scene talking about "Superman that hoe" you only can get a tiny portion of credibility. It's called marketing Diezel. You take a character, make him seem more special than all the others, and then you win. If idiots buy it, it sells, and bad rappers make money. Either of those two's success is only attained through good marketing. Not because they are good. Only now is Soulja boy able to put together some lyrics that are decent, but he's still talking about his "speakers going hammer, bammer bammer bammer". Soulja boy's club dance hits and ring tone money attributed to his success.

All I'm saying for Harvey here is to take his own route. Be his own man. And not to start posing "Based Genius" videos on youtube trying to be like Lil' B. Seacrest out.

in the end they are winning, regardless of their tactics/
they do what works for them.
u just some nigga that study others and think you have beneficial knowledge of this music shit.

bruh u wastin ya time critiquing all these threads.

all the shit u saying is useless and irrelavent.

let these niggas rap how they want.

u probably can list everything wrong about lil b and souljaboys' rapping, but they eatin.

the game about the image and hustle like i said already.
and gimmicks, which is why the odd future group cummin up too, although their rap skills are a lil more well crafted.

u should stop wastin ya time worryin about random cats on this wayne forum and start you a blog or website/forum where you review niggas songs and shit and "help them improve" their rap skills and shit.

get some google adsense runnin on the site,
and get ya name out there for "the nigga" to go to , to get songs reviewed
you'll have all the new rappers in the game cummin to ya website for reviews. You see how there's constantly new rappers askin for their shit to get reviewed and feedback and shit.
its millions of new rappers everyday and shit lol
u can even charge if niggas respect ya brand enough.

                        /end of rant

                        what u mean nas/n (the /n ) part??

lil b is hot becuz there's a niche for everything.
there's gonna people that like ya music , even though somebody like you might hate it.
who know's??? mykill, maybe if u somehow got more exposure, u could rack up a fanbase , and a bunch of people that are fans of your music.
                        exposure is the key.

                        Seacrest out.
no doubt good marketing/exposure is necessary, but who are u to say if they are good or not??
                        thats subjective.
                        its his niche.
there's kids out there that think souljaboy is good, so just becuz u disagree, doesnt mean you're opinion is correct.
soulja boy ringtone/danceclub rap is what his niche is and what type rap he's good at.
therefore he's a good rapper in his niche.

there's alotta lyrical guys that probably can spit nice lyrics, but cant make a hot song , and cant hustle like sb did to get his name out there.
but club/ringtone songs arent their niche,
                        lyrical songs are.
souljaboy fans might think that lyrical dude is wack, just like u saying soulja is.
its all about who u cater to in your music,.
