  • [Album] Mykill - G.R.I.N.D. (Gettin' Riches in New Dimensions)

As some of you know I've been working on the follow-up to my well received debut concept album, Machete Muzik. If you haven't heard that before, here's a link to check it out. I've put a lot of blood, sweat, and tears into this thing, and I hope that you all can take something from it in some way. Am I the best rapper in the world? Heavens no. I'd be lucky to even be the best in The Studio, but with people like Broc, Rizky, and Lil' BlanKo running around I have too much Top Tier competition to even fathom that notion. So, it is without further adieu that I present to you G.R.I.N.D. (Gettin' Riches in New Dimensions).

    Stream/Download:

Please remember when listening to it that I am NOT the best rapper ever. I was lazy in some parts on the mastering, some verses really needed to be re-recorded, and I could have done a way better job in many areas. I'm submitting this to you now, because if I tweak it more it will never see the light of day. I'm a perfectionist. That's what people like me do. Detailed feedback is always appreciated: good or bad. I'm looking to get better. I've got big plans in the future and hope to see some of you riding with me. Thank Yous: Noble (for the verse contribution and all the thread help), Jamerson/Jay Tunes (for verse contribution and much support), MC_Crary (for ridin' wit me down this road and never lookin' back), Pestrator (all the support and feedback) and of course BB for being the inspiration for so many lines and songs. Thanks guys. Hope you enjoy. Random freestyles will return soon.

im aggravated, i had good full review up to track 19 and i went to some other page and this shit is gone... afbuiwbfya3f3saabjf ill start over gimme a lil

            **Edit :

Intro - sick stuff, you need to hook me up with where u get all those dialogues and shit

The Sermon - Flow was aightt, lyrics were good with good multies.

Where Can You Find Him - Flow? best ive heard from you... ever. sick stuff 5/5

Fuck Ya'll - Gave feed already.

Move it - Gave feed already i think, anyways i thought it was nice, thanks for including me bro.

            Get Some
            - Hate it the beat. Flow was decent, liked the energy at sum points. Hook was decent... Liked the sick/contagious line the most.

Million Dollar Man - Liked the hook, flow was dope.

Don't Wanna Lose You - Liked the flow for the most part, the beat got bleh and the the sample got a lil annoying.

Omni Steez - Didnt like the hook, first verse was the best one. Good lyrics like always

Run it 2.0 - Loooooved the energy. Dope flow, dope lyrics. I like how you switched up the flow and it still sounded good. nice shit.

Crazy Men - This track is lyrically amazing.... cerebelum, boom Howard line, etc.... dope. Mac went it innnnnnnn, flow was technically flawless. dope shit.

            Dear Mama
            - I always wanted to make a song for my mom. Flow was good, lyrics were good, painted a picture for me.... Didnt like the hook tho. 2:23-2:46 i liked that voice.

On Top of the World - Hook needs sum work but it was okay. Lyrics and flow was cooool.

Lemme Talk - Gave feed already.

Two Lines - Beat overpowered the vocals at sum points... Flow was pretty stable throughout but didnt enjoy the the hook.

            Punchlines - Gave feed already.

            Back Into You
            - The singing hook wasnt bad : ) Ur flow was okay, always think a lil more mellowness is needed for these type of tracks.

Black Jeezus - Sum sick multis. Good flow and lyrics good as always... The hook sounded a lil robotic, like the sound (mastering) of it.

Breathe, Stop, Drop, Move - it sounded a lil distorted, like mastering wise... flow was cool. Hook was ehhh...

Don't Quit Your Day Job - Tough as hell. liked the hook, liked ur lyrics, the flow flowed. good.

I Do It - Liked your flow, hook was nice, not craazy but nice. Mac was nice kinda short but good.

For a Friend - Flow was okay, but i liked the lyrics and concept, another track that painted a picture. Hook was okay.

Orchesta Musik - Flow was crazy, like u barely took a breath.. the beat was cool haha. Had some good lines.... the last part sounded weird... couldnt really understand.

I really respect your hustle. You put out so much music out, that's dedication. If this was a preview I'm really looking out for w/e is next.

            Keep Grindin' homie.

Thx for the feedback Jay. I agree with a good majority of what you're saying feedback wise. There were a lot of elements that I had to just let go and leave there, or else I'd spend eternity working on that one song to get it perfect. Perfection is key to put out a flawless product. I was at most just putting something together for people to listen and check out, so I'm happy you did just that and enjoyed the play through. You're right though, I got a little carried away with some of the mastering effects and "robotic" sounds. Gotta get better at writing and mastering choruses, but hopefully in the future you guys wont have to suffer from my horrible singing. (lol) Again, thx for your contribution, and I look forward to working with you again in the future.

EDIT: As for the Intro, that's just taking a bunch of youtube videos, ripping em, converting em to mp3's, and arranging them. Fairly simple if you're internet savvy enough.

Re: [Album] Mykill - G.R.I.N.D. (Gettin' Riches in New Dimensions)

Intro - Good stuff, i liked the intro

The Sermon - I liek the energy of this track bro you did a good job on it, good lyrics

Where Can You Find Him - Sick flow, I really liked the hook on this one its sick and catchy

Fuck Ya'll - sick song bro, im really digging the beat on this one, you rode the beat real nicely

Move it - This song is mad catchy, u killed ur verse. Jay did really good on his verse and Noble did good also. Overall good song and the features were good.

                Get Some
                - The beat is really diff, but i dig it bro, I really liked the hook, and ur verses are good bro.

Million Dollar Man - Sick song bro, its an overall good song, i like the effects u added like u had the deep back up vocals, i liked that.

Don't Wanna Lose You - I was digging the beat, i really like the sample. I like how u did a lil singing on this song.

Omni Steez - Sick flow on this one bro, you rode the beat real nicely. I like the hook too. Im really liking ur hooks bro, props on being able to make good solid hooks.

Run it 2.0 - Sick flow on this one, your energy is great on this one it fits the beat perfectly.

Crazy Men - First of all i got a verse written for this song, so its pretty sick to listen to how u n crary approached the song bc its compleatly diff then i did. Lyrically yall killed it and yall fit nicely together on songs.

                Dear Mama
                - Good song bro, i liek how its more of a personal song n its not just like a punchline song.

On Top of the World - I see that you use Skate Bravo's beats alot, do you know him or do u just really like his beats? I liek the verses on this the hook was good too but the singing could use some work, this was a nice chill/motivational song.

Lemme Talk - I allready gave fb when you released it, i dig it.

Two Lines - i liked ur verses on this and its nice that u tried a diff approach to the hook.

Punchlines - Allready gave fb on this one when u released it, i love the beat on this one you n Blako did ur thing.

                Back Into You
                - I really liek the intor you had on this one. The singing wasnt bad. Your flow was ogod on this one n the lyrics were good n they fit the concept.

Black Jeezus - Sick lyrics bro ur flow is mad nice on this one too you rode the beat real nicely. I like the concept of the song.

Breathe, Stop, Drop, Move - The whole song sounded a lil disorted, maybe it was an effect you wanted to give it bc of the type of beat? The hook was allright, it fit the beat.

Don't Quit Your Day Job - Good track bro, i liked the hook (u kinda kinda sounded like eminem imo on the hoko) n ur verses your energy was good on here. Lyrics were good n so was ur flow

I Do It - Good stuff bro i like everythign bout it. crary did good aswell.

For a Friend - I like the concept of the song bro, keep making more emotional songs.

Orchesta Musik - sick beat bro, i really liek the sample of that beat. Your flow was good on it, lyrics were good too. The very end is not very mastered but it sounds sick and it was a nice suprise.

This is an overall very solid track bro. Your flow is good and so are your lyrics. You came with hard hooks so your songs werent lacking. Keep up the grind bro. On another note sick sig that u got.

                4.5/5

Yeah that was the idea of the song, a la Dark Twisted Fantasy. Kanye made some pretty artistic tracks, using distorted vocals on Dark Twisted Fantasy and 808's and Heartbreak, so I experimented with it a bit to try to capture the same feel. Wasnt 100%, but it was fun to try out. Hope that helps you guys understand it more.

                      Thanks again everyone!
