Re: [Album] Mykill - G.R.I.N.D. (Gettin' Riches in New Dimensions)

        Intro
        N/A.

        The Sermon
Flow was alright. But I still get the 'rush line' vibe at points. Its not smooth. Lyrics were nice.

        Where Can You Find Him
Wow really dope.... Agree with Jay Tunes, probably one of your best songs.

        Fuck Ya'll
        N/A.

        Move It
        N/A.

        Get Some
Beat kinda ruined the song for me..... You did a good job though.

        Million Dollar Man
I like this song! Its a nice overall song. You put together a nice track man.

        Don't Wanna Lose You
Didn't really like the beat/sample. The song was just kinda boring to me.

        Omni Steez
The start of the song reminded me of another song, can't remember which though lol. Cool song, nothing memorable though.

        Run It 2.0
Your energy really brings the track together. I think when you bring alot of energy, its alot better. It works for your voice, and your slow (Normal) flow. Kinda like Ye, sometimes he will have a simple line, but gives it that energy and it turns it into something dope. Really like this beat and song.

        Crazy Men
Alot of Bravo/Brave Star Beats....... They have the same sound imo... Should've switched it up some. Beat is nuts though, besides the fact. You had some really nice lines, and good flow. When the beat switched up, DAMN! Crary's quality seemed really low. Kinda threw off the feel when he came in. His verse was nice and all, but sometimes quality can throw you off.

        Dear Mama
Verses were nice. Hook wasn't good though. You seemed like you were trying to recreate "Hey Mama" too much though.... :/

        On Top of the World
Hook was lacking big time. You had some nice lines and told a nice story/painted the scene good at times.

        Lemme Talk
        N/A.

        Two Lines
Agree with Jay, beat overpowered the vocals. Beat sounded way LQ too. You actually had nice verses too, which sucks. With a better beat this could've been dope. Hook was different, now sure how I feel about it.

        Punchlines
N/A. (Still a dope track though and Blanko went the fuck in...)

        Back Into You
The best singing you've done so far, keep working on that and you should have it down soon. It worked nice on this song. Good vibe on this song. Its dope.

        Black Jeezus
Editing was slacking. You could tell it was more than one takes, which is what you don't want. Like the song besides that though...

        Breathe, Stop, Drop, Move
        The distortion didn't work......

        Don't Quit Your Day Job
Liked what you had to say on this.... You need to do more songs like this. Flow was on point for most of the song too.

        I Do It
        Was cool, just really simple....

        For a Friend
Liked the message and story.... But lacked something to pull to the listener in.

        Orchesta Musik
Not sure what to think about this.... Seems like all over the place, but its not lol....

        Overall
Beat choice could've been better. Lyrics were nice... sometimes your lyrics are boring though. You gotta bring in the listener. Flow still could use work. You showed you are verastile with your flows, but just fix them up and master them... and you'll be good to go. I like that you're experimenting with mastering... But those things take time lol. I mess with mastering techniques for like 2 months before using them on a track (Distortion and those kind of things). Some bangers on here, but you gotta work on constantly pulling in the listener. I wanted to skip a few tracks half way through, but stopped myself 'cause I wanted to here the full incase I missed something for your feedback. One of the best songs on the mixtape, Punchlines, is incredible. While writing this right now, I went back and have the song on repeat while I'm finishing up your feedback lol. The quality of the tape is good... but Crary's was slacking at points. The rest of the features were up to par on the quality. Overall, its a good effort. You just gotta work on a few things I mentioned and you should be good. 3/5 for the overall mixtape.

I'm really feeling "back into you", beat is solid. What mic are you using? Idk if it's your mic or compressor but it sounds like your compressor is set to 3:1 which takes all the depth away from the vocals. If you do have it set that low then I suggest setting it around 8:1 or higher. Only other thing that irks me would be the mid frequencies which could be taken down a few notches, other than that it sounded great.

yo what would be the benefit of 3:1 as to 8:1?? and vice versa...

The ratio knob would be the one you are looking for. The compressor determines your lowest peak to your highest peak. If you set it too low then you'll get a flat sound with no depth. 8:1 usually gives me enough presence on the low peaks without ruining the depth of the vocals. It may be different for you, there arn't any" perfect" settings.
