  • LoKo - She's Mine

This track was recorded with my older mic so the quality isn't as good as it usually is. So don't mind the oversaturation of EQ on the chorus. Just tried something a little different since it's not the typical song I'd rap. Shoutout to my niggas in long distance relationships. Niggas saying I need substance and only rap about "typical nigga shit" and "only do punchlines". So yeah. Fuk Yall.

This track is dope dude. Been waiting on some substance from you lol. Just fucking around me, you're a dope lyricist. Some time it's hard to jump across the genres of hip-hop but you did this effortlessly my dude. The different sound with the mic is cool, it gives a whole other vibe in comparison to your usual stuff. Sets the stage for you to bring some versatility. A1 track bro.

That rhyme scheme at the beginning of the first verse, ah.

Nice to hear you switch up. You got the punchline shit perfected, so it's good to hear you branch out. This was pretty dope. The mixing is kinda grating and makes you sound kinda feminine for some reason, like your voice sounds pretty light idk why. kinda sounds a lil' like chance the rapper. I can't even fault the lyrics. you never slack with that. If your mixtape has nice variety, it will definitely be a banger. I would change the lil' I love you thing at the end of last verse. wasn't really fucking it. sounded like you just needed something to end the verse with and was like fuck it.

4/5 (The mixing is the worst part)

You should be ashamed if you're following me on twitter and retweeting a nigga.

Why do you keep kickin' up the treble and lowering the bass in your songs? Makes em sound weird... It's like, some guys on here are great rappers with skills, but their recording and mixing holds em back. Your mixing isnt bad by any means (the hook is mixed very well), its just you take most of the bass outta ya voice and turn up the treble. Doesnt sound like something you'd hear on the radio.

There's a lotta multies on here. It's a Loko song, so that's a definite. Concept was executed very well. Vocals sound a little louder than they should be, but meh. That could just be my speakers. Song kinda ends abruptly though...

Thanks brodie. Wasn't really sure how people would react to this track since it's different from my norm but i'm glad everyone's positive about it.

Yeah it's easy to tell that the entire third verse was written separately from the first two. Got kinda lazy towards the end of writing it, but then again I think it'd have been boring if I kept the same scheme from the first two verses. The "I Love You" part is kinda forced and cheesy, but I think here it low to midkey works. Glad you fucking with it though. Gotta branch out every now and then.

Idk man lol I'm obsessed with treble. It highlights my voice more and when I put the bass in it sounds flat and boring and unmixed. Personal preference I guess, but then again I'm not that great an engineer to start with so I manage with what I can do ykno. And regarding why the song ends abruptly: there was a whole sappy monologue at the end but i took it out because the girl I was with at the time of recording this, isn't the same girl I'm with now. Lol. So to avoid any drama or misunderstandings, I just cut it out.
