Correct me if I'm wrong (which I'm not) but

Rap is a form of poetry. So basically, the whole studio is just one big place for poetry. So could I write raps in here?

Correct you could write raps in here. But no the studio could even be for rock songs or something if someone made that sort of music.

But this thread is good as poetry isn't like rap, it doesn't fit into bars or rhyme, it can be more free form and there are many different ways to write poetry

That's what I was gonna say but couldnt put it into words. I know some of y'all have seen def poetry jam. Rappers were on there and their stuff sounded different than their songs b/c it is different than a rap. Even if raps are poems.

Lets get back to what this thread is for.

I call this "Lost in the Jungle", it is a song that me and my friend were joking around with yesterday, but I'm gonna finish it right now.

Try and guess what this is about
I'm lost in the jungle, there's no way out
It feels like I'm suffering environmental rape
I'm lost in the jungle, I'm trying to escape
I wish I could cut down these trees in my way
I'm lost in the jungle, I'll be here all day
When I get out, there will be a celebration
I'm lost in the jungle, I can't find my destination
I'm talking about a bush if you haven't figured it out
And my destination is her little pink trout.

Meh, sounded better when we had the guitar and we were singing it. Suppose to be comedy, but whatever.

Proud for all the wrong reasons.

I woke up dis mornin.
Thank god dat my eyes opened.
Da girl I was wit lastnight night said I kickin alot and moanin.
I guess I had a bad dream without knowin.
Then I started goin baq in my mind 2 bring baq da bad dream.
All I can remember was hearin a female scream.
I started rememberher hands on my slidin down as she feel down & hit da ground.
I remember lookin at her as she lied lifeless lookin up at me.
All I kept thinkin was Did I kill her but a bedda question is who is she?
There was no blood so did I strangle her.
Why did I do it, was I angry at her?
I'm tellin my company this & she is in shocked.
Shes sayin, thank god it wasn't bout me or I would get da cops.
We laffed then I got up and looked in da mirror.
Thats when my "dream" became" more clearer.
I looked down & saw scratches on my chest.
I dont kno how they got there cuz they werent there when we had sex.
I looked baq into da room, jus starin at dis freak.
Dis girl raped me while I was sleep.

I DID NOT write this. My friend, Monique wrote it. It`s about being unborn. ( i.e; abortion )


Laughs never laughed, dreams never dreamt.
Jokes never told, promises never kept.
Hearts never beat, smiles never smiled.
Songs never sung, imaginations never wild.

Friends never made, gifts never discovered.
Minds never tainted, mysteries never uncovered.
Words never written, words never spoken.
Pain never felt, spirits never broken.

Joy never rejoiced, lights never shine.
The children unborn, they were given no time.
Goals never met, potential never reached.
Brilliance never found, love never preached.

Never to hear the clapping of their hands.
Never to see their tiny feet dance.
Never to witness the evils of the world.
Opportunity lost, no little boy, no girl.

No sorrow, distress, no bad, no good.
No victim of hatred, never to be misunderstood.
Never to be judged, mistreated, ridiculed.
Never called names, never to be made a fool.

So bittersweet.
A gift and a curse.
The unborn or those like us?

I'm talking to the people that want to post rap in here, there's a difference between rap and the poetry you here in class or by a legitimate poet, so yes I'm talking to you and others I guess.
