Yeah lol. Easiest way is always the best to go. But even with running Disc Cleanup, and manually erasing programs/old files/etc, my computer is still pretty slow...

Perhaps go with a disc defragment then, I mean it has as much space on it as the comp I'm on now which is my work one. I'm using up more space as well and I'm running 2 SQL servers so mine should be worse than yours

Be careful with a disc defragment though, I know and have read things of people doing them and it ends up fucking your comp rather a lot if something isn't installed quite right or something is missing.

The other option would be open up task manager and go to the processes tab and if you could take me a screen shot or two so I could see every process that is running. It may not be something using up a lot of CPU Usage but it for example if you had Word open and closed it sometimes the process can still be running, that will slow down your machine. But don't stop any processes because you can cause a lot of damage that way

First find out if it's a virus on your computer or some void in your internet security. Disconnect your internet connection completely and see if you have the problem. If not then something's wrong with your internet security more then likely. Find that out first.

Sounds like a Trojan or some type of malware, i would advise either

Install and run superantispyware & malwarebtyes (trial versions will do the job) in safe mode

Uninstall & reinstall your web browser

if your using firefox ad the ad pop up blocker to your ad-ons

use some type of registry cleaner (ccleaner) or (tune up utilities) [IF YOUR RUNNING WINDOWS XP OR VISTA ONLY]

The Pop-Up blocker program did help block the pop-ups but I still had the slow computer problem. I had to use the free version of Super Anti-Spyware since I had already used the trial version & had to purchae it for it to work & that pretty much got rid of all the spyware on my computer. Thanks for the info bro. Oh btw I tried starting up my computer in safe mode & I couldn't do it. Any suggestions why it wouldn't allow me to?

The Pop-Up blocker program did help block the pop-ups but I still had the slow computer problem. WINDOWS XP. And like, i click F8 on start up, then click safe mode. But it wont go into it.

Vista, XP & 2000
Are you just pressing or holding F8? Cause if you're just pressing then it won't work, you must hold the F8 button to access the Windows Advanced Options Menu. If holding F8 doesn't work you must repeatedly tap F8 for the Advanced Options to open.

Also if you are not turning off your comp at all then try an actual shut down then it should register you tried to boot in safe mode and load in safe mode for you. Or turn off the comp fully and then try going into safe mode.

Windows 7
Restart your computer. When the computer starts you will see your computer's hardware being listed. When you see this information start to gently tap the F8 key on your keyboard repeatedly until you are presented with the Windows 7 Advanced Boot Options screen as shown in the image below.

Other Help
If that doesn't work for Vista or Windows 7. Close any running programs, click start, in the start menu search box type msconfig and hit enter, go to the boot tab, click for safe boot, click apply then ok, then when it prompts for a reboot click on restart, complete all tasks needed then do the msconfig again and on the general tab select the option normal startup then apply and ok and reboot.

For XP. Close any running programs, click start, click run then type msconfig and hit enter, go to the boot.ini tab, click on /safeboot, click ok, then when it prompts for a reboot click on restart, complete all tasks needed then do the msconfig again and go back to the boot.ini tab and uncheck /safeboot, then on the general tab select the option normal startup then apply and ok and reboot.

Hope that may help in some way in case you were not doing any of those things you two

Lol I sort of don't look for any answers if you get me I'm only looking for if people put problems and I look for the latest questions and just go and answer them the best I can sort of thing, I mean if someone has asked but is still asking I just assume it's not been fixed

But yeah I get you, it's just good to help people out really. But at least I do get paid to work on comps

LOL yeah I let that go a loooooooooooooooooooooong time ago. Computer Science is just something that I know for my own FYI, I'd probably die from doing this: all day, if that was my major in college. It was my major/minor in high school though.
