How would you invest your money if you had few millions?

yeah I kept trading as a hobby, in december 2016 I made 5773 USD of stocks and was convinced I could make a living of it, so I quit my job.

Started trading full time and made money off GWPH, NVIDIA, Achaogen, Tesla, Canopy Growth, Etherum & Bitcoin (on top of my head, there were waaay more) I had several losses too, but in total with losses deducted, I made 20 000 USD in 2017. (Invested 34,650, sold for 54,650, thats a profit of 20k)

But by 2018 I was running out of money and got desperate. So I got a new job

looking back, If I had not quit my job and re-invested everything I made into stocks (instead of withdrawing it for bills, food & weed), I could have been well off today.

Instead I now live paycheck to paycheck, everytime I tried to get back into trading I had to withdraw it within weeks because I was broke

really fucked up too because since 2017, Tesla, NVIDIA, GWPH, Etherum, Bitcoin & Canopy Growth have had CRAZY growth. I bought Achaogen at 4 dollars and sold it at 24 (today it's bankrupt tho lol)

This is kind of the choice I'm dealing with now. Back when I had money I put a lot into investments and tried my best to never take it out. Now it's been awhile since I've been able to add to it but it's still gaining pretty well on it's own. But shit happened, I got sick, lost my job, now I'm unemployed and having to seriously consider pulling everything out and losing all my progress. It freaking sucks because I know if I do it, it would take me years to get back to this point.

yeah my mistake was trying to live on stocks, when I could of just survived of a job.. monthly withdrawing from my stock account killed my gains. U got covid or what happened?? and what stocks you got??

I did get Covid but that wasn't the main issue. I was exhausted to the point of falling asleep at my desk or while driving, extremely foggy headed, in constant pain, etc. I was finally diagnosed with Hashimotos and put on thyroid meds. but now their thinking it may be the tip of a larger problem, so their still trying to figure it out.

Most of the investments I've made have been in the energy sector. Mainly solar and wind, which has exploded lately. It's not fast returns like what you were seeing, but it does really well. I also have a bunch of stock in Merck, wonder what it would have been if I'd picked Pfizer or Moderna instead?

damn that sucks, hopefully it works out for you. I'm out of a job aswell rn because of health issues, but your case sounds more serious

Yeah it’s one of the only ones rn. Rest of my portfolio down like 15%… this is me every time I look at the numbers I wish I woulda got in on SOL too. The guys on KTT were talking about it when it was a good price and I’m stupid for not buying
