Remember when Future first came out?
Who was fucking with him when they heard Tony Montana the first time?
Who could understand everything he said the first time you heard him?
Did that song make you go like "Damn he's dope!" the first time you heard it?
Cause I do not remember anybody fucking with him like that when he first came out.
I remember everybody hating on him.
Seemed like he didn't have any fans what so ever, but we kept hearing about him
Then eventually people started liking his music heavy. Now he has plenty of loyal fans.
And how many times have we seen this happen since Future?
Chief Keef, Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Yachty, Kodak Black, Lil Pump etc etc.
These guys always got shit ton of hate when they first came out, but they were still hot in the game.
As I observed this, I asked myself a question. Who are their fans? Where are they hiding? Why do I keep hearing about them when nobody is fucking with them?
It appears to me as if the media, radio, magazines, hip hop blogs etc forced us to like them. As if they told us so many times that this is good music until we agreed. Sort of like brainwashing us to like them.
When we look at the rap game today, "mumble rappers" are obviously the most dominant.
And they only talk about diamonds, drugs, money, hoes & bitches etc. Some ignorant shit.
While lyricism in the rap game today is very irrelevant compared to the older days of the rap game.
Not to be on some KidComet shit, but is the music industry purposely dumbing down hip hop listeners?
As if they don't want us to think? As if they want us to do ignorant shit such as doing drugs and party all the time.
Cause you and I know; that music can have major influence on people. I can imagine that the music industry is very aware of their power.
What do you guys think. Am I reaching?
