i have norton and still no virus. had computer for about 5 years too and download a shit load of stuff

I had norton for 2 years and it fucked my computer up, made it slow couldn't properly remove any virus without a 3rd party help and it didn't even dectect alot of things, i uninstalled norton bought and installed Nod32 & malwarebtyes and i had 15 trogans, 2 viruses and a shit load of ad-ware and spyware that norton let roam on my system for idk how long.

Why the hell did downloading firefox kill my msn messenger??? My mouse icon does the thing like its loading, but it never pops up.....I was gonna uninstall it and re-install it, since it wont let me just install it while its still 'on there'.

MSN sucks, you will probably never be able to get it back working. Unless you have some luck, unlike me...

To unistall MSN though, you gotta download the MSN unistaller thing lol.

Actually......under 'add/remove programs' just uninstall 'windows live essentials' then you'll get a popup that says 'do you want to: repair or uninstall?'

But the egg timer that the mouse pointer shows doesn't always mean your comp is doing anything, people always think it is though, but it's just code. For example if the egg timer has started and it is supposed to finish after something opens, if there is a problem and that thing can't open then the egg timer may not go away until the user stops the process or an error message appears.

nope, I clicked 'repair' like a tard....after like 4 hrs it was only at 7%...then froze.......so I said F it......im going to hit uninstall instead tonight....

agreed on the norton being shit bit.
My sister used Norton for about a year and then she quit after Norton pissed her off.
It would constantly ask for stuff and do scans by itself and made everything super slow and shit.
When she uninstalled it the laptop was like 3x faster and she installed AVG and found 8 Trojans and a load of other Maleware.
