So is this the sequel to Rebirth? I just watched Undisputed today and he talked about liking to keep continuations (Carters, Dedications, etc.) and that Funeral could’ve been called Carter 6 but went with Funeral because of Rebirth (possibly to set up another sequel?)
In the reply I sent in somewhere in this thread with an article, he says it's part of a theme, like his other stuff, and that this might end up being part of a series, like rebirth, funeral, and reincarnation, or something like that.
Q: Sticking to subjects, why is the album called Funeral? How’d you come up with the concept?
A: I thought everyone would understand. I’m noticing that I keep getting asked like “why is this Funeral?” I was like, “Nah, I thought y’all knew my mixtapes, my albums, they all have their little categories. You got the Da Droughts, you got The Prefix, The Suffix, you got Sorry 4 The Wait 1, 2, 3, 4, you got Tha Carter I, II, III, IV, V. So you have Rebirth, and now you have Funeral. Just plain and simple, nothing else. There’s no backstory. Everyone that asks, I’m like “Sorry I don’t have some long drawn-out story about the name.” It’s just Rebirth, Funeral, and maybe the next one would be Reincarnation, I don’t know.

Lol Sorry 4 The Wait 1, 2, 3, 4???? He got 3 & 4 stashed???
I had my expectations set differently I guess. I was expecting this to have a 'Grateful' sound to it (who knows if that was even a cut from Funeral) I just like his raw rapping with a catchy, melodic hook. I really like some of these songs though.

He said he recorded 74 songs so there's probably a bunch of Grateful souding tracks
