I liked his take on Bank Account otherwise D6 / D6R are tapes he could keep, it's sad because D5 was so damn amazing. People hate on D4 but I love it personally. D3 is of course pretty experimental and Wayne at the start of his peak. D2 is often called a classic, but not my cup of tea personally. D1 isn't really my thing either. that's not calling them bad though.

all good dude! & so true man i am such an avid 04-2015 wayne fan (07-10 especially) that it's really hard for me to listen to his current shit & be like 'wow this is so good' when in reality it's just not. i agree with you 100% tho dude. it's like he never sits down and just goes through his old shit & he's literally said many times "once the album is done i forget about it & move onto the next" which is just ridiculous to me lmao. it's like holy shit if i ever found something with success like C3 id be like okay well let me try and continue that & evolve that style & see what i can do with it. instead it's like he just looked at all the current rappers & went.. "hey i can do that too" and now we have the wayne we see today. when i listen to c5/d6/d6r/funeral.. i literally just hear the same song. over. and over. and over. nothing stands out. nothing's unique. it's just him rapping a mile a minute almost every song with the highest pitch voice possible & the cheapest sounding autotune imaginable. i know he's better than that. i just don't know where his head has been at the last 5 years. telling you dude ever since the lawsuit he has not been the same.

For me I used to get so much crap talking about Wayne this, Wayne that when in middle and high school lol. I was so passionate but with how things have went I've lost some of the passion for the new stuff. It's next to non existent simply because it's not to my liking but the old stuff is very solid, nostalgic and even just really enjoyable.

I grew up on Wayne heavily when I first started to listen to music. It was Linkin Park, Wayne and whatever songs were on the Madden NFL games. Some Fall Out Boy and Panic At The Disco because they were really making some cool songs you couldn't avoid. Outside of that, I was what I'd describe myself as a "Wayne Purest" as in 90% of what I enjoyed was Wayne and Wayne only.

I of course knew big songs from Kanye and other people, Graduation is my favorite Yeezy album for sure. Songs like Bust It Baby and of course other big radio singles in the 2000s caught my attention but for the most part it was those and my passionate enjoyment and desire to hear more and more Wayne.

As the 2012 year came and went into the lazy 2013 year I did love what was coming out, even at that point he was better to me than everyone... But I did start exploring other genres of music some. Bands like Bring Me The Horizon caught my attention with their Drown, Sleeping With Sirens and their song "Can't Hang" caught my attention especially going through a breakup. I was loving the material and how a lot of that was relatable. With time I realized I can't relate to a ton of the shit Wayne talks about, to this day at 25 I can't. (And that's okay, I still love those songs)

In 2015 I discovered my now favorite band, Dance Gavin Dance, A lot of people here don't seem to know them but they have some incredibly creative songs, As well as being very talented musicians across the discography. All three of their lead vocalists (many lineup changes) are ultra talented.

2015 was when Wayne was in the middle of his comeback with FWA and some other solid content, but also some flops, and the lawsuit. As the lawsuit dragged on and the music became hit or miss, I stopped having the same excitement whenever something came out, but if something was super good, I'd of course love it.

As time went on the autotune and vocals pitched up, mixtape after mixtape, half hearted attempts at collab albums, and many false promises of new albums / projects, being told one thing and seeing another.. It just got really old for me man.

I still listen and love Wayne's music but I stopped making excuses for him when it's bad, it's just bad.

My top 3 musical choices right now as of today are bands. Dance Gavin Dance (All their discography but specifically the Jonny Craig era) Miss Fortune (They have 3 incredible albums) and last but not least my current new favorite is a band called Dayseeker. Most people here probably aren't into this stuff, but there's so many incredible songs, and creativity that I just love to hear and see. Wayne's been pretty stagnant for a while now and this is just so far out the box for me.

To add, I love J Cole's two big mixtapes and debut album and some of his other stuff. Mac Miller, and some other stuff. But Wayne will always be my prefered, Kanye being a close second. It's just hard to really dig the new shit. Doesn't mean I'm not a fan, I just want good music.

i’ve listened to them all. multiple times. they are fucking awful dude. he literally made the same song 57 times. only good song of any of them is abracadabra because again it was different & stood out. i could go the rest of my life without listening to the rest of the songs from those 3 tapes & be perfectly fine. my ears will thank me later.

d4 & d5 BLOW d6/d6r out of the water there’s literally no fucking comparison whatsoever. d3 was the beginning of the drugged out autotune weezy.. it had a few bangers but nothing i’d go crazy about. & d2/d1 both have a few here & there but also aren’t my cup of tea either so once again agree wit u 100000000% dude.

it’s so wild to me reading this dude. before wayne all i listened to was shit like panic / fob / korn / system of a down / etc. so now i’m starting to realize why you & i have such similar opinions. that’s why when wayne released rebirth it stood out so fucking much cuz i was like damn a rap artist is making rock music this is dope!!! & that’s what really started my wayne obsession & after following his music & career at the time i couldn’t help but realize he was the best artist on the planet. that’s why now when he puts out the shit he puts out i get so fucking frustrated because i KNOW he is better than what we are hearing. it just got lost somewhere & like we said before he needs to go back & fucking find it cuz i’m getting sick of hearing the same mixtape/album with 23 fillers & 2 decent songs.

I know he has some other amazing ones, but hear me out. D5 is album quality work, with the energy and creativity of a Wayne tape. I Am Not A Human is for sure my favorite Wayne album though. C4 at number 2, Rebirth at 3. It changes from time to time but I feel pretty good about this as my top three albums from Wayne.

While I mentioned some of those bands above, I don't know if you know any of them, or if you'd like them but maybe if we share opinions on Wayne you might hear something of interest on those.

What i'm gonna say is Wayne's music since NC2 is not for everyone. SFTW2 and FWA has songs that you can listen almost everyday but from NC2 to now his music sound very dark and depressing and full of autotune. And don't get me wrong, i like his new music, i like his fast rapping/multi rhymes flow, it's just that i can't listen to it everyday, i gotta be in a specific mood for Wayne's music since NC2, for example i can listen to songs from(or the full projects) DD3 or C2 or NC every single day of the week.

I think the best advice I can give Wayne is to make the music he was good at, previously someone else made a comment saying the sound is dated. but I absolutely disagree. If anything there's people who miss and want that sound. Boy Bands are getting nightly shows in Vegas playing their 90s/2000s albums all these years later. So nostalgia is always wanted by some people, but new music with that same vibe would be incredible.

Someone just made a post about C3 having a ton of samples and whatnot on it. I love samples all over beats. Give me that type of sound and I won't have any complaints.

If we can capture a specific time period of Wayne in terms of confidence, It'd be 2009-2011. I don't think Wayne believes he's a goat anymore (actively a goat, career he is always going to be considered one)

it’s so nice to finally see someone else acknowledge that his new music is difficult to listen to on a daily basis. dude i can literally shuffle 3/4ths of his discography but if any new songs come on i always skip right past them i’m just never in the mood for that. it’s just like too fast/intense for me i feel like i’m having an aneurysm. i’m glad u are able to enjoy his new shit tho i rly wish i could dude i’ve tried SO many times but it just doesn’t click with me. but yeah dd3/nc/c2/c3/c4/ianahb/ianahb2/d4/d5/rebirth ANY day of the week.
