Its hard to get info around the site without a random topic..Forum activity has decreased so much in the past day or so.

It's a small shoutout/chat box (live chat obv) on the forum index front page...many forums use it. People can just chat, it's not like the one we got atm where it's hidden, out of screen, this would actually get used. This could be cool. Just suggestin'

Sounds cool to me. We wanted the chat back a while ago, but now we have it no1 uses it... Hope this could help us getting rid of topics like the Official Random Topic Thread getting locked.

Yeah but the chat we have no one uses for such simple reasons:

It's out of the screen
Unnoticed
You have to click on it to open it

This chat, well more of a shout box really, would get so much more use. The first thing anyone sees when they login is the shoutbox, it'll be rammed with members just chatting like you do on MSN, AIM, etc. Especially when Wayne news is coming the chat would be a great source for people to keep up to date with news without posting pointless spam, etc. I think it's a great idea.

Random thread can still easily work just members need to mature out. It wouldn't even make the random topic thread irrelevant it would make it less spammy and more constructive random chat than arguements and pictures. I mean if only there was a way to make it no post count then that would be ideal but there isn't a hack for that so that sucks lol.

I don't see why some people care about their post count so much. To me its an indication of you have a life or you don't.

But that chatbox looks cool. I think the current one we have doesn't get used so much is because its a tinychat. Every section/thread has a different link to the chat. So someone could be in the chat on the HQ side, and someone could be in the chat on the General section side. (At least thats what I think, I don't know if thats the case)

Nah, I think the post count is alright. It makes it easy to see if someone is new and if someone has been around a little longer.

Yeah thats true. I have a life, but when you've been here more than a year then it starts to show.

@Yeah I'm sure Danny will do something in the near future, til' then we're gunna have to sit tight :/

Yeah this is what I'm saying Tune, it's not actually possible to disable a post count in a specific thread. Only forums, or sub forums, otherwise we would've done that.

Well how about ya'll make a sub forum for the Random Topic Thread only, & disable it there. That's what would make most sense imo.

Taking away random topic was a mistake tbh...there has been like 5 times when i wanted to post some small info. There is no way to communicate or spread info rapidly without it. Its a necessity.

I think takin away the Random Topic created more spam in other threads because we have no where to post random shit.
